COLOR |
Supernova 2015 is pale yellow, amber straw in appearance. It's like the gold in a ring, pale chardonnay, or ginger ale. |
NOSE |
Unlike the color, this single malt has a bold nose led by with peat, smoke and fumes and then supported afterwards with citrus (especially lime), toffee, chocolate, and vanilla. |
FLAVOR |
This cask strength dram also has a bold taste with oily salt, pepper, sage, heather, tobacco, and honey in addition to the traditional smoke, peat, and creosote one expects from Ardbeg. |
FINISH |
The long complex finish is dominated by salt, pepper, lime, and tobacco with an undercurrent of sweet honey that lasts far beyond the typical single-malt finish. |
COMMENTS |
Complex, stimulating, and enjoyable. Ardbeg Supernova is a hit and that's well worth tasting. Its flavor is bold and strong but lacking a little in complexity. |
