Bruichladdich Organic Scottish Barley
COLOR
Very pale light color lacking a "warm glow" with comments ranging from "pleasantly blonde" to "Bud Light" and "like pale pee".
NOSE
The pleasant nose is complex and yields cream, caramel, oak, charcoal and decaying fruit in addition to the anticipated peat and smoky character.
FLAVOR
The distinctive smoke and peat carry through to the flavor with additional hints of salt, lime, and some indescribable aromatic hydrocarbons giving it a distinct medicinal flavor.
FINISH
The finish is short to medium with a heavy dose of salt
COMMENTS
The Organic Scottish Barley pays tribute to its Islay roots but doesn't stand up to the best, lacking nuance and depth. An enjoyable but not truly great dram.
