Caol Ila 8 Douglas Laing
A pale autumn yellow color with a greenish chlorine tint. Like rainwater collecting in a cedar barrel.
A subtle but complex nose with smoke, tobacco, licorice, vanilla, cream, wormwood, lime, menthol, and lacquer. PQ claims there's salt in the nose!
Sweet cream, butter, banana, menthol, licorice, charcoal peaches and lots of salt.
Long finish that changes over time. Lime, lemongrass, straw, cream, vanilla, licorice, banana, cream and lots of salt.
An aggressive salty Islay dram! It's high ABV lends itself to some water, depending on taste.
